It may be that I spend a lot of time with my kids outdoors, but I found it unusually warm this summer.
Not only was it hot, but it also appears that the moisture and heat index are competing to see which records can break most. During some days, I’d like to just go camping within (maybe in an ice bath); summer is the time for shenanigans in the backyard, sprinkler running, slip and sliding, walking, and zip lines.
It feels great on the skin on a hot summer day and is my cool secret weapon outside. Bonus: it uses just three ingredients that I almost always have!
2021 Natural Cooling Spray for Skin
The idea for this spray came when you stopped working outside and re-applied homemade bug spray and drank a gallon of water. I noticed that the spray on the bug left the skin cool, and it didn’t seem so hot.
I was surprised by how refreshing this was, and I realized that the cooling sensation was created by the natural properties of the witch hazel and essential oil in the spray.
When I want to cool off without smelling like a citronella candle, I’ve decided to spray for times. The result was this refrigerating spray, that I now maintain during the yard, sandy, or backyard barbecues.
I found also that it works so well to help take “itch” This cooling spray.

How to Make Anti-Itch DIY Cooling Spray in 2021?
Aloe Vera – Aloe is natural and skin-dependent, anti-inflammatory. It moisturizes and is perfect for those with normal or slightly oily skin, without being oily. It is also frequently used in anti-aging skin products, rich in nutrients and antioxidants.
Peppermint Essential Oil – In this small amount, peppermint would generally be considered secure by the majority of aromatherapists. Before using this or any essential oil during pregnancy/nurture or on small children, it never hurt to check with a specialist or trained aromatherapist. If in doubt, obey it. You can also infuse dry or fresh peppermint into the witch hazel for about a week before using this spray. To do so, add a glass jar of 3 tablespoons of dried mint and cover with 1/2 cup witch hazel. Cap close and stir 1-6 weeks every day. Squeeze the hazel and use it.
Witch Hazel – While first I had been introduced to witch hazel after my first child was born, when I had received an all-around cloth container, soaked in witch hazel, and told to wear it with hemorrhoids. Although we didn’t get to the best beginning, I loved witch hazel because of its advantages in skincare and natural medications. It is slightly antiseptic, cooling, and skin-friendly. In reality, excess oil is often removed and blemishes and dark heads are combated. Its ability to reduce blood vessels and inflammation benefits hemorrhoids and also the body.
